sorry if this is in the wrong place or already been covered but i am very new to this.
i have recently acquired an old banjo that is in need of repair but cant find anything online and wouldn't know where to start.
the name on the banjo says The Barnes & mullins No 3a, i have been unable to find out anything about this, through searching online i came across a The Barnes & Mullins Perfect No 3, and mine is almost exactly the same except mine dont say Perfect on it and mine says 3a and also on mine there are 2 frets that are right on the bottom that only go halfway across but they are not actually on the kneck itself but on the round head part.
sorry to sound stupid but as i say i am very new to this.
i would like to fix this old banjo up so any information will help me loads
many thanks
