I took the day off on friday to purchase my first banjo. I have wanted one since i was probably 5 so i finally decided to do it. I purchased a Fender FB-300. I bought it from a local guitar shop so it has a lifetime warrenty on any adjustments and things like that. Over the course of the weekend i probably played it for a total of about 8 hours or so. Almost the entire time i was practicing my alternating thumb roll. I have a learning book that came with the banjo. I have been working through that learning some chords and rolls. I feel like I am getting pretty comfortable with it for the short time that i have been playing it. I would love to meet some people and maybe get some advice on some dvd's or books that are really good to learn from.
