Haven't been playing banjo long, but I'd say I'm a pretty accomplished musician, played with a few bands so far, looking at getting into a serious one. I don't really believe in genres, I believe that an instrument (even the banjo) is simply a tool for producing art, and the art should reflect the artist. Classifying yourself puts a lid on the art you allow yourself to create.
