I began learning to play the banjo at age 13. (see profile pic). We moved (again and again) and I left the banjo for other pursuits (guitar) though I always knew I would return.

Here it is 40 years later and I just bought a used Deering Goodtime, having been inspired by Marilyn of "Pluck and Luck". It's good to be back and find Banjo Hangout.

I look forward to finally mastering this beautiful instrument and learning from folks here on the Hangout!

Started 5 string Scruggs banjo lessons at 13 years of age. We moved a month later having learned Cripple Creek, but wanting to learn Foggy Mountain Breakdown. Never took it up again..... UNTIL NOW at 53 years old! Learning frailing from Patrick Costello on Youtube. Inspired By Marilyn of Pluck and Luck.
