I built my first banjo from a kit my dad gave me years ago. I banged on it until my wife got a headache. My wife passed away a little over a year ago and I took it very hard. I wanted something that would help me heal. I was going through some things and I found my old banjo. It is an open back from Grizzly industrial. Music is an excellent outlet that expresses emotion. I took the banjo to a music shop and had it repaired. While I was there I looked at several banjos. I picked up a Gold Tone and plucked the strings. It was the least painful price wise in regards to the quality I was looking for. I wanted a banjo I will still be playing 10 years from now. This one fit the bill. For now I am tickled to death with my choice, and I keep the old banjo on a stand in my office.
