Travelled across the US in 2013 from LA to Boston and stopped in Roanoke VA where I saw a bluegrass band. This was the first time I had heard a banjo live and it stirred something within me... I bought my first banjo in January 2014 and have been learning clawhammer since then. I can't get enough of that old time stuff!
