I Have just had my Gibson Kel Kroydon Conversion converted. The new neck was build for me by Karsten Schnoor of Hamburg, Germany, a very good Banjo and instrument Builder. the idea for the neck came from playing my very old English "Turner" Banjo (Cir 1920) The Fifth string goes through a small brass tube from the fifth fret to the middle of the peg head. This I find very convenient as you don't have the peg in the way when you move back down the neck.
