I went to the music store and showed the teacher my picture of my Blueridge brand banjo with Dr. Ralph Stanley's autograph on it. Well, they not only said the autograph was probably fake....but that blueridge did not make banjos!!! I have looked at quite a few signatures of his and the D, R, S and all together are a very good match in my book. The banjo is OK, the only issue I am having is it seems like the neck is too narrow and my chords and fingers foul my jam up. I been working on cripple Creek and Whoa Mule. Wore the brass plating off my nickel picks last night. I played acoustic guitar for many years, and took bluegrass lessons starting about 10-11 years old. Now 41....I am getting good at the guitar again and trying like heck to pick this banjo. Love any tips or anything to help me along.
