I moved from my boyhood home of West Virginia to the Bay Area to pursue my interest in bluegrass music in the summer of 2006. Growing up, I learned to play music from my father Ray, a master bluegrass musician, and studied with world famous folk musicians at the Augusta Heritage Workshops. In West Virginia I performed in the old-time stringband Wild Hog and The Falling Run Bluegrass Band. Over the past twenty years, I have mastered many of the bluegrass instruments. However, bluegrass patriarch and virtuosic mandolinist Bill Monroe remains my primary musical inspiration.
