I bought my first banjo in Feb. of 2005. A Johnson JB 100. Very cheap banjo. Didnt know how serious I wanted to pursue it, so why not but a cheap one. Tried to learn by myself for about 3 or 4 months, got frustrated then put it to the side. Picked it back up in summer of 2006 and havent put it down since. My wife got lessons for me on my 30th birthday. Awesome gift. Been takin lessons ever since. Bought a Gold tone bg 250f in April of 2007 . Try to balance being married with two sons and practicing all the time. Not easy. I try to go to BG festivals any chance I get. Trying to find someone in Lynchburg area to practice and jam a little with. E-mail me if you like to do so. Ya'll take care!
