I've got a Bart Reiter Special that I'd like to retrofit with nylon strings. I assume that I can replace the tailpiece and reslot the bridge and nut. What I don't know is can the existing tuners be used with nylon strings or not.
Anybody got any experience/advice on this subject?
Thanks

I was raised in a musical family. I played clarinet and sax as a child. Bluegrass banjo briefly as an adolescent. I have sung my entire life. I've played Irish tin whistle for many years. I took up the banjo fairly seriously about 10 years ago. I play downpicking, as well as two and three finger style old timey.
