I got an old banjo today. The person claimed it was American made 40's but I'm not sure. It has plastic tuners and the resonator is attached by a single screw. it has a metal veneer along the front to make it look like a metal rim. I can't find a brand anywhere. The high g will also not keep tune. It has a wood bar (tension rod?) and it sounds like a Goodtime model. Is there any hope? Should I remove the g tuner and reglue it or buy a better tuner?
