Hello Fellow pickers. I am new to this group. (Not really, was a member 25 years ago.) I played banjo and toured Western Canada for 20 years. Retired now, but still picking. . Over the years I have collected various instruments. So, need help on this banjo I would alternate on stage with my main banjo! This is a zither banjo by J Abblewhite, London UK. The company closed down in1914. It is visually run of the mill, but unique! I have spent many hours researching and nothing. What is unique about it, is at the 5th fret and 10 fret, there is a built in capo built into the neck! (patent pending) . It is a metal plate with holes and a nipple hook to tuck the string under to raise it to a C. 4 at the 5th fret, and one at the tenth. To "poke" them in you need a special tool which is screwed in the top of the head stock! Never seen this before, and have spent, really, years trying to figure more about it. Any help would be great. Thank everyone!
