Hi everyone
Can anyone help me? I am learning banjo. I have very very small hands and am experiencing great difficulty in placing my fingers in the correct position to achieve the chords I am trying for. I am currently trying for a D7 and my fingers just don't seem to be long enough!? My finger is at the neck of my banjo at it's first knuckle away from my hand - my tutor's finger is at the neck of his banjo actually at his knuckle - ie. he has all of his finger available to reach whereas I have only two thirds of mine available to reach the strings. I'm probably not making myself clear, but basically the knuckle which is at the neck of my banjo only has one join before the end of my finger and I just cannot get a bend it that? I am despairing. I know everyone says just to keep practicing, but I am and it doesn't seem to be getting any better for me. I am playing on a Windsor Whirle which we know to be around 100 years old. Any suggestions would be truly welcome.
