Uncle Dave Macon, Gus Cannon's Jug Stompers, Memphis Jug Band, Mississippi John Hurt, Blind Willie McTell, Collins & Harlan, Banjo Ikey Robinson, Leecan & Cooksey, Harry Reser, Roy Smeck, Charlie Poole and the North Carolina Ramblers, Sol Hoopii, Darby & Tarlton, Vess Ossman and all manner of pre-WW2 music: hot jazz, rural blues, country stringband, Hawaiian, early calypso and other "world" or "ethnic" musics, Vaudeville, ragtime, British Music Hall, medicine show, jug band, hokum, folk songs, sea shanties, celtic, etc., etc.

Played stringed instruments for almost 30 years. Guitar, ukulele and a bit of mandolin, fiddle and banjo. I have a deep love for pre-WW2 music--especially early country stringband and rural blues. Want to play in a jug band again and hope to find some folks to jam with. I played 5-string banjo for a few years about a decade ago and moved away from it but I'm wanting to return. UPDATE: Have acquired a nice old tenor banjo and am going with the 4 stringers.
