I had owned a banjo for 35 plus years, but finally got serious about learning how to play it in the Fall of 2004. I found a banjo teacher who helped me get over those many hurtles, and a year later I discovered this Hangout site. What a difference those two things made! I feel good about the level of playing I am at now, and I couldn't be happier that I picked an activity where I will "flat line" before the banjo learning curve does. Happy pickin'.
