Some Years ago I travel, as a guitarist to New Orleans, there I ask a Banjo player in the streets about banjos. When he told me the cost of a decent banjo, I realized that I haven’t the money in that moment (I was traveling as a student). Then he asked me to bring my guitar and he showed me some arpeggios (banjo arpeggios) and told me (with some guru tone in his voice) “I see a banjo in your future”. I practice those techniques in the guitar, and that make me a different guitarist, at least in my country. One day, in a flea market, I saw a banjo, I tune it, and suddenly I discover that my hands knew what to do. The feeling was amazing. That Street banjo player was a banjo Guru after all. Since then I am playing mostly the banjo.
