Born and raised on an Illinois farm. Built a Saga banjo while in college at the University of Illinois and picked at it for many years. Moved to California and the big city. When I started making a little money, I bought a Mountain at McCabes in Santa Monica. A few years later, my dear, sweet wife picked up an '08 Gibson Earl Scruggs Standard for a song and gave it to me for Christmas. Hey, I was a good boy, what can I say? I've been on cloud 9 ever since. Now I'm back into playing and enjoying ever minute of it. I've found a great, patient teacher (thanks, Kent Besocke) here in Pasadena and we are grinding off all the rust. Surprisingly, the banjo sounds great and I'm loving every minute I spend with it. Practice isn't a chore, it's a joy to me because I really love the instrument. My other passions are my wife Rebecca and sweet redheaded daughter Samantha. I don't want to get too spiritual, but God has blessed me and our family.
