I started playing bluegrass banjo in 2006. My dad taught me. Then he handed me Uncle Dave Macon's "Go Long Mule" cd sometime in 2008, 2009 I suppose. I started playing clawhammer (frailing) then. Soon after or around there, I went and saw Adam Hurt play his clawhammer at a house concert in Pittsburgh. Then I fell in love with melodic drop-thumb clawhammer. So now I play "refined" clawhammer and bluegrass!
