I've been playing roughly 30 years and I always wanted a old Gibson but its seemed to always be just a bit out of reach. I recently (6 months ago) ordered a Recording King elite 75. Upon its arrival I was quite pleased with visual and tone quality. from the tail piece to the head stock it all was just great. the inlays are so tight it looks like the wood grew around the inlay!!
I was planning to take it to a friend who is a Pro banjo player for his set up but i never got the time. in the last month i started experimenting with it. I loosened the head a bit i got it tuned to about G#. put a Sosabee bridge on it and lastly added a Zero glide nut. I have to tell you this thing is awesome.
Tone clarity and projection is just amazing.
I got the most change from the Zero Glide nut. If there is anyone on the fence give it a try, you wont be disappointed.
Dont get me wrong the Banjo out of the box was great but it seemed just a little muted.
hope this helps someone decide to go ahead with a Recording King product.
