1958 I was born in Demmin, Eastern Germany • at the age of 12 I learned to play the clarinet, followed by the guitar and in 1980/81 I play tenor banjo in a dixieland band. After that I finally took the 5-string banjo. That was after I moves to Jena in 1975 where I'm still living. • in 1984 I founded the “Fox Tower Bluegrass Band” • from 1975 until 1988 I worked as a precision optician, as a forest worker and as a stock clerk • in 1988 I made my hobby to my profession • I toured solo or with bands through half of Europe, Australia, Mexico and several times the USA • in 1999 me and my “Fox Tower Bluegrass Band” was awarded the “Best of Texas Award” for “Best International Bluegrass Band” • in 2010 I was inducted in the “Old Time Country Music Hall” of Fame in Iowa, USA • beides the "Fox Tower Bluegrass Band" and "Lady Sou & Mister Banjo" I also play with the the duo “Sunny Dogs” and solo as well as with other musicians
