new Washburn

From FrLe23 on 2/14/2015 10:48:51 PM

hello group,

I bought mid-January a new B-17K.

I bought it online (eBay) because there was none available at "main" online shops.

Why did I chose a Washburn b-17K ?  cosmetically very much to my taste: gold plating, engraved neck heel and headstock back;very nice inlays too, so happy that I managed to have a banjo not having simple dots or the so common hearts and flowers or flying eagle.

The sound is quite good for my taste; I just play (and keep learning) for my pleasure,
my b-17 has the right tone for me, so don't need to make fuss about the "right" tone,
what I have is right for me.

I tweak it a little from time to time, adjusted the action, head tension ...
I am very happy with it and feel it is a bit unfair that Washburn banjos are not
very much appreciated here on BHO;

From what I see, chinese made banjos are quite good and have a great balance between looks, sound, quality, and playing pleasure, so ... why spend more ???

let's enjoy our Washburns.

:D
