Some features of the Style A : Two different styles of Peghead make me wonder if they are indicators of chronological order/Dating. There is a plainer headstock, w/ " Style A" stamped into the dowel rod.

Many sellers will mistake the 5 holes in the tailpiece for a homemade adaption for 5 strings. Both my Style A & B have these holes.

	David Locky says: 12/3/2012 8:43:38 AM We'll get your photos up here shortly, td, but I can see them from my end. You have got Early Versions of both a Triple-X A and Triple-X B 17 fret tenors. Check out lockyphoto.com/triplexbanjo/. On the Types and Models page you will see that Lange Triple-X banjos can be found in what I am calling Early, Intermediate, and Late Versions of the same Type and Model (Style). Early and Late Version Triple-Xs are defined based on 1) the headstock inlay design/plan and 2) the resonator design. The Intermediate Versions sported the Early Version Headstock inlay and the Late Version Resonator. Late Version Headstock designs included the Model (Style), i.e., A or B or Professional (C or D?) insribed on the headstock, and thus the impressed model indicator is absent on the dowel stick of these. I already have photos of a good proportion of these combinations and will post your excellent photos, as well. I believe that the Paramount tailpiece was disguised by the drilling of the five strategically placed holes on the Triple-X banjos. All Triple-Xs except for the two Professional Models I've seen have the drilled out tailpieces. I suspect that the Triple-X Professional was 'awarded' the identifiable Paramount tailpiece because it was the top Triple-X design (here again, lousy sample size of two!).
