Hello everyone!

I'm an avid backpacker, and an avid banjo player as well. I'm looking to buy a travel banjo to bring along when I go backpacking, but I don't know what kind is best. Do any of you have advice? I've heard some good things about the Goldtone Cripple Creek mini, but nothing else for any of the other travel banjos out there (other than the Plucky, which I've heard isn't great). I'm a college student, so I am on a bit of a budget, but Christmas is coming up soon, so maybe Santa will be friendly this year?

	Grum says: 11/4/2011 12:39:44 AM In my opinion the Tranjo is THE way to go as far as travelling with a banjo is concerned. But it's not perfect in that there have to be some compromises. Compared to a full size instrument it's quiet (that could be a good thing) but certainly loud enough for practice. The new tuners have fixed the only other negative aspect of the instrument. Invest the $. it's a quality item and will pay you back in the long term.
	ipeter says: 11/4/2011 6:32:18 AM I'll second Grum's endorsement of the Tranjo! Don't even think about getting anything else. Fun to play, light, designed to travel, and yes, the earlier models are a pain to tune. It's truly a "wash and wear" instrument that you don't have to baby or worry about. Sad to say, but I play my Tranjo more often than I play my Huber.

I only managed to afford my Tranjo because it came up on ebay - I paid a little over half retail price and it has some scratches and dings but I am happy. So what are the reccomendations taking his budget into account? Paul
	Reuben Dunn says: 8/26/2014 7:00:58 PM What is the difference, other than price, between the Tranjo and the Licensed one on Amazon? The four reviews l have read on that page, give me pause for concern. Has the quality of the instrament been sacrificed for the lower price tag?
