At Last

From majikgator on 3/24/2011 8:21:12 AM

i think i have finally de-toxed from all the caffeine i consumed to keep me going through camp and have actually set to work in at least some earnest on the mountain range of material presented to me at camp and as at camp am breaking it down into manageable chunks. i hope.

My guess is that it'll take about a year--just in time for the next camp :-)

I've been working on "Sandy Boys" from Mac Benford's workshop, plus 2 tunes from his Ed Haley CD/book: "Half Past Four", and "Rebel Raid". Mac's tab book is very tough, so I had to "dumb down" certain parts of those tunes. That'll keep me busy a while! After that, I might work on "Half Shaved" and "Peachbottom Creek" as taught by Rafe Stefanini. Life is good.

Great Bob, i didn't have a class with Mac this time but got the CD and tab book, mainly for his half past four which i liked better than the way i had been playing it; i was too melodic, but there are several other tunes there i would like to take for a spin. i think i have played Mac's CD 10 times already.
