Just joined 2 minutes ago. I'm three years into learning the banjo, I'd say I'm an advanced beginner or early intermediate student. I'll be in Tokyo mid Oct to Nov 2, but go once a year and may be retiring in Tokyo or Chiba next year (still trying to figure out the math for budget) I've corresponded with Desert Rose who set me up with a nice little banjo to keep in Tokyo, with MiG-19 who led me to some "Asian" melodies and banjocase who gave me a list of bluegrass clubs in Japan and suggested I join this group. My home in Tokyo is my wife's mom's place close to Ikebukuro (1/2 hour walk to Ikebukuro station).
