Although it's May, I just received my April issue of Bluegrass Unlimited. Murphy Hicks Henry's column General Store informs us that Akira Otsuka, the mandolin player from Japan's Bluegrass 45 (the band who adorns our group's homepage) has a new solos CD out called First Tear. I downloaded it from iTunes and it's a very good album in my humble opinion. There are some great vocals on it so I looked it up online and pulled the info from Bluegrass Today:
"Joining the former Bluegrass 45 mando man are Tony Rice, Kenny Smith, Phil Rosenthal, Chris Stifel, Al Petteway and David Grier on guitar; Rickie Simpkins, Phil Bloch and Janice Martin on fiddle; Eddie Adcock and Mike Munford on banjo; Jason Moore, Tom Gray, Fred Smith and Johnny Castle on bass; and Chris Stifel, Rick Watson and Josh Otsuka on vocals". :""
Give it a listen, I think you'll like it.
