last weekend was the Richmond Bluegrass Jam, which is held annually at the Cultural Arts Center on Mountain Rd. From the number of cars parked out on Mountain Rd., I don't think anyone missed it! The proceeds go to the Fisher House which is housing for veteran's families while the vet is at the big VA hospital in Richmond. East of Afton was the "host band", and the audience went crazy every time the banjo soloed. If this is an indication of the love of this music in the Richmond area, maybe they should start thinking of a bigger venue, or maybe I should go out there at the noon starting time....I'm still looking for my car!

	Yard Onion says: 2/25/2014 8:30:41 AM Thanks for posting about this, Bob. I can't believe I forgot to post something on the hangout about this event! It was great indeed. We had so much more people than we anticipated. Music was provided by not only the 28 bands but so many great musicians were jamming in the hallways, outside, etc. All in all we raised about $27,000 for Fisher House. Fantastic day! And to think even the banjo got some audience love….:)
