Hi All, I have a couple questions here about nylon strings, I broke my 4th W string Aquila classical and was going to run down and get a new one but thought I'd ask some questions first.

1) On the Aquila 1B classical and the new 11B Red series, what's the difference in medium and normal tension?

2) What's the difference in the classical and the Red Series (Not The Color) I see the string gages are different?

3) Which do you prefer 1B Classical, 5B same as 1B but a red 4th string, the new 11B all red or Chris Sands?

String gages 1B & 5B Medium Tension --- 1-.0225, 2- .027, 3- .0315, 4- 1B- .0250W, 5B- .04 Red, 5- .0245

11B, All Red Normal Tension --- 1- .0205, 2- .0235, 3- .0275, 4- .0335, 5- .0225. THANKS Larry

	Bufo Bill says: 5/25/2015 10:04:28 AM Well, from what I've heard the reds are firmer than the classic Nylgut. The Reds are more resonant than the classic's and have a little more sustain. You can still buy classic all Nylgut fourth strings in some places, but the new red fourth is the better option to my ear. Hopefully someone else can add their own opinions, but the best thing is to try them all out yourself, as everyone has their own ideas and tastes in this regard. All the best from Bill. :D
