Scuffing nylon strings

From David Moore on 4/21/2015 3:00:00 PM

I have Adagio nylon on one of my banjos that came on it and I play a lot of clawhammer as well as fingerstyle and notice that the backs of nails do slip some on the strings.  Anyone ever scuff strings so your right hand nails don't slip as much?  A bit of grip? If so how was it done?

I haven't as of yet but it's probably just a personal preference...lots of players do it though.

Nylgut strings have rougher finish than regular nylon strings, so they feel similar to gut strings.
