Had noticed the last couple of times that I ordered the Nylgut Classicals from them that they were sending me the sets with the red series 4th, instead of the wound 4th as I had ordered. So I then ordered the wound 4ths in singles. Checked their website the other night and saw that they are no longer carrying the wound 4th singles.
The wound 4ths may be crappy to some, but I like them for their sound and look. To me, the red 4ths look weird on a Buckbee or other older banjos. I also tried one of the red 4ths. Didn't really care for it...
So I settled on the set (didn't realize they had them) that has the Nylgut 4th.
So, how do they compare in tone to the red 4ths? The wound 4ths?
