Favorite String Brand

From Bufo Bill on 5/31/2012 3:38:04 PM

My favorite strings are Chris Sands Mediums, I tune my banjo down to dADF#A, and they growl and rumble, especially when I do slides on my fretless. Any one else want to say what there favourites are and why?

I've only tried the Minstrel Nylgut set but they sounded pretty good to me and werea bit firmer to play than my Sands Mediums. The Nylgut strings are definately worth a go, not as much trouble as many people think, with the caveat that you are careful to rid your banjo of sharp edges like you find on cheap tailpieces etc.
Thanks for the reply Frailblazer.
All the best from Bill. :D
