Hi All! Thanks for the group. I really want to try nylguts on my goodtime banjo. Will I have any set up issues changing over, like having to adjust the neck for less tension, bridge placement? Thanks in advance.

	john bange says: 12/19/2011 10:03:21 AM you should not have to touch the neck for nylon strings. the tailpiece that comes on the Goodtime might have too sharp an edge to tie them on and a no-knot might need to be used. also, the 5th string is held in place with a spike rather than a post bridge. this can just be raised up a touch to allow for the diameter of the nylon 5th string. these are the adjustments you will need to do and all are reversable. If you decide to stay with nylon, you might have to make the nut slots a little bigger and this is not reversable but I have done it and still use steel on the same nut from time to time.
	Pluckin Mutha says: 12/19/2011 10:32:59 AM You may also have to enlarge the slots on your bridge. If you get a "No Knot" of the cheap repro type, spend some time to carefully smooth all sharp edges. Start your loop in the slot then around and over the tailpiece on the smooth surface of the bend.
