I have two banjos and keep one tuned down to g/c and one up to d/a

What type of nylguts do folks recommend for these tunings? The scale length is approx 26" on both.

I am finding the minstrel set to be slow and have trouble keeping up in the really fst jams. I run those on the G banjo.

I was thinking about running the classicals on both.

The box for Standard Tension is checked off. I assume they are medium guage. Regarding tuning up. I do tune to open C, in which case the first string is tuned up a full tone to E. I`ve neer broken one of these strings.
	darrenjahn says: 12/21/2011 5:08:03 AM I used to use the classical, but a friend suggested a try the minstrel and I've been using those ever since. They have more tension and feel more substantial, which takes some getting used to, but I like it. I can comfortably tune it up to open A or double C on my 24" scale neck without any problem. It might be a stretch to go to double D.
