Hi All, I'm going to ask 2 questions. I got some La Bella nylon guitar strings`various sizes cheap, why when you look at banjo sets is the 3rd string heavier then the 4th, I put a .030 on the 3rd and .034 on the 4th, should I reverse them? #2 when I tune the 4th D string after it sits why does it go sharp, I would think as it stretched it would go flat. Thanks

	Bufo Bill says: 8/31/2019 7:39:25 AM Hi, I have the "17's" banjo set, and the fourth string is a wound string (nylon threads wrapped with metal) this creates a deeper sound without the deadness to the sound of a very thick pure nylon string has. An unwound string at the thickness you describe goes "thunk" when plucked and stops while a wound string that is thinner diameter reverberates longer. To some old time players with thick bridges near the centre of the drum with thick heads, it sounds fine, but to players who crave the ringing sound of the Classic banjo sound (gut strings) these thicker solid nylon strings don't give the right sounds.
