What are the differences between the Aristocrat and Leader models? Thanks!

I have an early catalog reprint (mid-20s?) that lists the Leader as being priced between the Style C and D, with a price of $200. There was no mention of an Aristocrat model, so it may have been later. Sorry to be of so little help.

The Paramount Aristocrat was of Walnut neck. Many had a Beach Wood rim with Walnut veneer. The resonators were and Poplar with Walnut veneer. They have laminated color trim using dyed green and Holly veneers.

The Paramount Leader was primarily East Indian Rosewood in the neck rim and resonator. Leader rims are Rosewood ply with Rosewood veneers and rim caps.

Leader resonator backs are solid 2-piece Rosewood with a Holly strip between. The backs are flat inside. Oddly, Leader resonators have Poplar sidewalls with Rosewood veneers on the outside.

Leader necks have white Holly and black pressure dyed center laminations. Neck purfling is a slant check pattern.

Many Leaders made in the 1930's have additional wood inlay around the resonator and pierced tone chamber skirts.

Lange also made a Leader Special model that featured gold plated metal parts. Standard Paramount Leaders have nickel plated metalwork
