MIT Book, Ring The Banjer.

From Mike Casey on 8/26/2014 9:08:18 AM

This is a nice book on banjos from several years ago.  It has nice photos and information on early banjos including the Irving Berlin banjo.  I don't know if the poster is still available, but the book is available on Amazon.  I just checked.  Take a look and see if it fits your collection parameters.  Thanks, Mike

Thanks Mike. I just ordered "Birth of the Banjo" on Amazon, which is another book related to a Banjo display. I'll let you know how it is. I haven't heard quite the reviews for it as I had for "Ring the Banjar" which I think is a fun book.

I ordered "America's Instrument, the Banjo in the 19th Century" yesterday while looking up Ring the Banjer. I saw your request for an International Banjo issue. I think it was a short lived publication if I am not mistaken. I have collections of most mainstream Banjo and Bluegrass publications going back to Vol 1 No 1 on most so I might have a copy. They got to taking up too much room in the house so I had to put them in storage. I'll check to see what box they're in. It will take some time. You can overdo the collecting thing as I found out. I think you'll enjoy "America's Instrument." It was recommended to me by my banjo instructor and I really enjoyed it. "That Half-Barbaric Twang" paired well with it too. "America's Instrument" was more about the object while "Twang" hit on the banjo's place socially (and its identity).

Thanks in advance for checking on that magazine Mike.
