For those with a Silverspun pot, what tailpiece are you using? I have a Triple X that I love, but I think the tailpiece is hindering the sound -- it's a bit on the "nasal" side, and I think it could be a lot more open sounding.

I have a Waverly tailpiece on it, simply because I couldn't make fast string changes with the original OME model.

Any thoughts about the tone quality of the old OME tailpiece (which seems similar to a Kershner, but heavier) or any other unit you've tried? Thanks!

I loosened the head a tiny bit (it's tuned to an A, but seemed really tight, so I gave each bracket just a little nudge), which helped the openness a bit. I'm using a First Quality (Ludwig) head - I might switch to a Remo at some point, since the head is about 10 years old. But I love the stability of a Ludwig head. Then I followed Dan's advice and brought the tailpiece down, which involved loosening the nut (to my surprise). The sound is much more open now and the neck, which always vibrated some, now feels like it's singing along! Thanks for the tip - I'll keep experimenting, but I think I've got it nearly dialed in.
