I'm the original owner of Mike's Columbine #2690 and he got it when I got my Columbine III in 1984. At the time, it was the top of OME's line and I still think that inlay pattern is the best I've ever seen. After nearly 30 years of playing OME's, nothing can match their sound. They say a banjo doesn't know it's not still a tree for about 25 years. I'm not sure what happens at that point but I think it's true. My OME just has a great tone and feel after all these years. I've played many different banjos and even own another brand which is nice, but the OME still fits my ear better than just about anything out there.
