Anyone who plays an OME banjo ( or anyone who knows what an OME is)

Hey, fellow OME-ites-- my Triple X's neck is perfectly flat. There isn't a back bow, and I am not getting any buzzing, but I like a tiny bit of relief for playability. Since the truss rod is adjusted from the heel, obviously I need to unstring and remove the neck.
Question is, how do I know I've put just the right amount of relief in? On a peghead-adjusted instrument, it's easy to check every little turn of the rod, especially since stribg tension plays a role. Do I need to keep attaching and detaching the neck, or is there a trick to this? Any ideas are welcome. Thanks!
