I know most clawhammer players prefer medium gauge or so strings. What do you 3-finger players use? I've found that when going up the neck, the heavier gauges can be somewhat of a hindrance.

	RJWMitchell says: 5/12/2014 8:35:16 PM On my 22 7/8" I prefer heavy gauge, and it gives a great sound whether using finger picks or not. On my 23.5" I prefer medium gauge but need to use a thumb pick or three picks.
	hobogal says: 5/13/2014 10:39:48 AM I use 'ghs' medium light sainless steel strings (10,12,13,22,10) with a phosphor bronze 4th string on my LeVan openback and medium Gibson 'Scruggs' strings on my Nechville Zeus. I know it can be easier to play with lights but I prefer the 'beefier' tone of medium strings...
