Hi all. About ten years ago I first picked up a banjo and was instantly hooked. Practicing all the time learning tunes and finally going to a few jams, I was moving up the ranks. Then I started getting sharp pains in the base of my picking thumb that rapidly got worse to the point that I couldn't play after about three minutes. After about five years of playing ,I gave up and sold my banjos. CBD oil is all the rage now , I started rubbing a brand of pain cream on my hand and noticed that although I still have pain , the "pins and needles" pain is greatly reduced. So I ordered me a new banjo and with apprehension , gave it a try. Well, im playing again! About two weeks now I'm playing for at least a half hour per night. I cant get rid of the effects of arthritis but i will be always searching for the best ways to deal with it. I have a lot of catching up to do!
