Mt Haley Jam-Midland - Freeland, Mi

Just got back from this jam that meets the last Friday of the month in the Mt Haley Township Hall. It's located on the the corner of Homer and Freeland Roads in Midland. It starts at 7 PM is suppose to end at 10 PM. Large Room, alot of Guitars and a guy that plays the saw, now that was interesting. You give the guy at the door your name when you come in and your called up to play your instruments in order in which you were signed up. It doesn't matter the skill level or the instrument. A lot of folks just sit and listen. Donate or not , it is up to you. Yes it was fun and I think I'll try it again.

My plants give me a dirty look :( Thanks for the update. I just might sneak in as a listener feller or a plant or something :D

Playing alone sucks though as you can not feed off other experiences. We learn bad habits. I pick every day a bit. It is fun on the good days and discouraging on the bad days. 	BasicBoston says: 2/27/2011 6:30:49 AM Royal, I have to be honest with you, I've been playing in the closet (home) for too many years. I didn't play Friday, I just wanted to see what happened and listen. Some times thats the best thing to do. At the break with the trusty banjo in the case, I had a advanced guitar player start questioning me about the 5 string banjo. Well before long, I was struming Georgia Buck for him clawhammer style and as I looked up I had a crowd around listening. It felt pretty good having someone actually enjoying what I was doing. Just pack the ole get viddle up and come on down next month and just listen if you want. I always seem to learn something when I talk to other folks about their instruments. Just a though.
