Fritz, meet Ruth. Ruth, meet Fritz, oh, and Jeff. Jeff, this is Fritz and Ruth....I'm Vince. Please to know ya!

So, let's get to know each other. How many banjos do you own? What's your favorite? What style(s) do you play?

I own two playable 5-strings (see linked pics to your right!), one not so playable 5-string, one really old Dixie banjo uke. I also have 2 acoustic guitars, 2 electric guitars, a mountain dulcimer, a mandolin, two trumpets, assorted harmonicas and jews harps, and some rubber bands. On banjo, I play mainly bluegrass. I think I'm closer to Reno's style than Scruggs, but I'm learning Minstrel Stroke style. I play my fretless open back for that, and it's a blast!

Hi fellas, glad to see a spot for Louisiana folks. I live in Ball, La. just outside of Alexandria. I have talked to Fritz in the chatroom before quite a while ago I must say. I have a Morgan Monroe, I forgot the model...hahaha...old age, and a Goodtime II. I play the Goodtime for practice because it is so much lighter than the MM.
I know there have to be more banjo people than just us, looking forward to seeing this site progress and grow. Also get to know all of you. Thanks for starting this site.

Hello everybody! I live in Baton Rouge and have played for a couple years. Thanks to Fritz I've learned quite a bit since taking some lessons with him. Hi Fritz. Gumbo and Ruth, nice to meet you. I've got a couple of banjos, a recording king RK50 and a new Yates Mahogany. Love the banjo, just wish I could play like guys like Fritz.....oh well perhaps one day. There's got to be a lot more banjo folks in LA. Hope we can hear from them.

Hey Jeff, I didn't recognize ya. Good to hear from ya. I see where you have a Yates Ron Stewart banjo. I would love to hear it. Congradulations. BTW, we are playing at Whole Foods this Friday from 06:00 till about 08:30. We have a new fiddle player and this will be his first gig with us. If y'all ain't doin nuthin, come on out and hear the latest version of The Fabulous Bagasse Boyz.

Cool Fritz! I'll see if I can swing by Whole Foods...haven't heard y'all in a while. Is your fiddle player anyone I'd know?

His name is Anthony Rushing. Very, very talented. Besides fiddle, he also plays mandolin and provides vocals. This is all still in progress and we have our rough spots but it is getting better and better each time we get together. I for one am very, very excited about the music that we are making and the great potential that we have. Once it all comes together I think it will just be damn good stuff.

Nice, Fritz. I'm definitely gonna try to get out and hear y'all. If this fiddler Anthony is on a level with you, Rex, and Willie, then I know he's gotta be great!

It's a Yuppy grocery store for the "Green" crowd. It's in Baton Rouge on Corporate Blvd. Get to I 12 however is easiest for ya (probably take Flannery up to Millerville and get on there going west toward BR). Get off at Drusilla and go left under I 12 then right on Jefferson. When you get to Corporate, turn left. Whole Foods will be on your right. If you go in the entrance that's farthest to the right as you face the door, you'll be in the rotunda where they have live music! I've played there a few times, myself, and it's actually a pretty cool venue!

Fritz, Sorry I couldn't make it out tonight. Our cable was out for over 10 hours. By the time the cable guy got here and fixed the problem, it was 7:40 and I was having supper. But let me know where and when y'all are playing again.
