thought it might be fun and helpful to join your group. I have been playing Clawhammer for about 6 years, mostly old time traditional. I took Ken Perlman’s banjo camp in Washington at one time, and use his books and some others.
I have accompanied my husband who is a solid fiddler, on the mountain dulcimer and guitar, then I learned fiddle and, finally banjo
i started a band we named Jam Nation, which performs at local Sonoma County senior facilities. The band continues, very successfully, but I dropped out 6 months ago as singing became more of the interest of the group. funds earned by the band support the Sonoma County Folk Society which encourages singing and music in our area
Fortunately, there are many opportunities to play in our area I play fiddle and banjo just about weekly. the emphasis has migrated from American to Swedish, but we do play a variety I am also in a weekly girls fiddle group of 6 women
I’m lacking any banjo players to play with, so it’s something I try to keep up on I am interested to hear from you all over the country what are you practicing and interested in?
