A video with my 1890, Schall built HC Nelson.

I did a bit of research on this banjo, it is apparently a "bump neck", fully spun (inside and out), with a single ebony wedge to hold the neck. The neck is walnut and the whole thing is beautiful. These features apparently make it 1890ish, and probably built by Schall, rather than built from Schall parts.

Thanks Alan. Do have any Schall banjos? I'd love to see pictures and hear audio if you do.
This Nelsen is my favourite old banjo. I don't like fyberskyn heads though so will go back to a vellum when I can.

Yes, I have a John Wesley which is a Schall soldtl through Jenkins music here in Kansas City. It is pretty fancy with the silver plated inlays, flower pot head etc. I'm still restoring it. So isnt playable at the moment. I will post pics and vids when I do. I need to find move of the fancy hook nuts for it. I'm missing around 7. I may have a jeweler make them for me.
