A month or so ago I went to Helix to have a grapefruit rim put on my CC50, and I have had time now to play it a while, and WOW! Larry Hill is a genius - how he could make an instrument that sounds like it came off of a 78 rpm record when it is only scant weeks old is amazing, as is the banjo itself! Perfect old-time tone, great playability, and beautiful grain in the grapefruit rim, too! He even upgraded my hardware for a surprisingly small price, and had the thing done in only a few weeks, I can hardly put it down....thanks Helix, for the beautiful instrument and all of the pleasure of playing it! It just gets better every day...
