Just Aquired a Midnight Zephyr

From BJD on 2/25/2013 11:16:06 AM

I just aquired a Midnight Zephyr yesterday from a nice young lady. Took it home, put new strings on, tightened the head to a G# every so lightly, and played Scruggs style for 3 hours. Then came back later and played it again for about an hour. Oh boy did it open up and play nice! This morning, even better. It sat in it's case for 6 months until yesterday. What a great banjo!

nice, I can't get enough of mine. I think it just keeps getting better and better the more I play it.

Congrats on the Midnight Zephyr. I've got a couple of banjos but my Helix definitely gets the lion's share of playing.

helix league, small case letters, confident. What size T-shirt? XL pre-shrunk ok?
Get in there. I promise to work real hard, working simple is hard.

Helix - able to leap tall people in a single bound.

BJD, tell us what # you have, is it a tube banjo, or shoes, those ledges, don't pay any attention to that little guy behind the curtain, just ledges.

#12 - July 2012. (Medium pre-shrunk.). I play scruggs, but this little banjer may get me to clawhammer with that beautiful tone. I was messing around playing some claw tonight. Really nice sound. Very happy to own it. Can you give me any advice on setup, care, etc?

She's quite happy to be with you, the banjo , I mean. It'll still be needing to be played 'in', but they seem to 'remember' better, they vintage in a week.

Setup is personal, you can adjust the action at will. Little kids and small animals will begin to follow you around, study hard, get good grades, Oh, you mean setup the banjo, just play , I am so happy I could help. It's probably more fun than we should have, if there are any issues, let me know. If I had an address, I would send a T-shirt, black, but XL is not as big as one thinks. Best wishes.

XL is fine. I'll send the address in a personal email. Great to have it. Poor RK-35 hasn't been played since Sunday...

Thanks. It is much more than expected. And SO light!

Ya know, i read all about how helix were light. But the only other banjo I've ever held was a aluminum pot fender and my first thought upon picking up my helix was how heavy it was. I can't imagine how much those lesser banjos must weigh.
