Just got my first conversion and now I know what it's all about. I have owned modern Gibson's, Ode, Ome, Stelling, Sullivan and others. All were very good, but pre war has got it all. I never knew what I was missing. I'm 72 years old and my best playing days are over, but sure a pleasure to own one now even if for just picking to my cat and dog. I think they even know the difference. Ha Ha

	BuckM says: 7/6/2016 8:00:20 PM Congratulations on your acquisition. I used to sorta wonder why people would spend thousands for a prewar banjo that only had a simple tone ring. Then a couple years ago I attended a Bill Evans workshop where one of the participants had a TB-2 conversion, a similar instrument to yours. We swapped banjos for a while so we could try out the competition. That lil puppy sounded really good, loud, had wonderful tone character. If I had not been told it was a 2, I don't think I would have known that it did not have a big heavy Mastertone ring in it. Later I heard a Style 1 along with other prewar instruments in a really great comparison thread here on the forum, and that son of a gun sounded like it cost a whole bleep of a lot more than it probably did, not even outclassed by a 6. Enjoy!
