I am considering selling a conversion that I have been playing and slowly assembling over the last 5 or more years. I have no idea of value! The rim is from a 1929 TB1 but horribly treated by someone and converted to a dowel stick neck and cut down short. The rim was "saved" for me by Arthur Hatfield and Ed Stacey. The dowel hole filled and the rim built up again using wood from a pre war rim. It is OK on the outside and not so pretty on the inside. It has pre war shoes, E2 hoop and a diamond flange. The tp is a Grover patent letter box type with sliding cover. The resonator looks like it is off an RB 250 and post war definitely. The neck is Style 1 by Wyatt Fawley, maple w/ rosewood. The tone ring has no name - may be FQMS - and has been drilled with 8 holes.
So it is a sort of mongrel player's banjo. I have used it often over the last years - sometimes with a Kelly ring on top of the archtop. Now it is set up sort of as described.
I am trying to purchase a MacBook air to use on my mission trips and this banjo is my best hope of paying for one. I do need help working on an asking price and would much appreciate the help. I am putting pictures up on my home page.
Thanks and blessings for your advice.
Ian
